ELana and I decided to try out a restaurant we had never visited before. After a little research, we decided on a small place called Crawdaddy’s Kitchen. Located on Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport, its unassuming exterior gives no hint to the mouthwatering and authentic Louisiana cooking just inside the door. The menu was filled with many appealing options, but we were there to try one thing, the Crawfish Etouffee. We began with hush puppies for an appetizer and were not disappointed. The crispy and flavorful fried balls of yumminess crunched upon biting and were very tasty. Paul, our server, then brought the etoufee and angels sang from the heavens. It was good, real good with just enough spice to let you know it was there, but not enough to make my bald head sweat. I’m sure they could add more spicy heat to the etouffee if that’s what you prefer, but my guts prefer medium hotness. Our server was new but attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and kept our tea glasses filled to the brim and our needs met with the perfect blend of being there and not being there that is indicative of a good server. Our experience was enjoyable and the spirit of the place was true Louisiana. We will be back to try some of the other items on the menu and I highly recommend it.
